Numerous airlines fly from Lisbon to a number of London airports: British Airways and TAP Portugal fly to London-Heathrow; easyJet fly London-Luton; Ryanair fly to London-Stansted; Monarch Airlines, easyJet, TAP Express and TAP Portugal fly to London-Gatwick.
Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
TAP Portugal, TAP Express, Monarch Airlines and British Airways all fly from terminal 1. This is the largest and more luxurious of the airport's two terminals. The departure lounge has a fantastic range of designer shops and great places to eat. It even has a mini-recreation of the Time Out Market in the city centre, and an outpost of the city's best pasteis de nata (custard tart) shop.
Ryanair and easyJet fly from terminal 2. This terminal is quite basic, with a few shops and places to grab a snack. Shops include the novelty shop Ale Hop, and there's a large Burger King with ample seating. Most of the departure lounge is reserved for Schengen flights: there are only two gates after passport control.
Terminal Information – Arriving
At Gatwick: Monarch Airlines and TAP Portugal land at the south terminal while easyJet land at the north terminal. Gatwick has its own dedicated train station underneath the arrivals hall of the south terminal. If you're flying with easyJet you can reach this by taking the free inter-terminal shuttle. The Gatwick Express is the fastest way to reach the city centre. The slower commuter trains are cheaper. There's a taxi rank at the airport, although trips into London can be prohibitively expensive. easyBus and National Express coaches also serve the airport: remember to pre-book your tickets.
At Heathrow: British Airways land at terminal 5 while TAP Portugal land at terminal 2. Both terminals are served by the Piccadilly line on the underground and have train stations. The Heathrow Express is the fastest way to reach the city centre, while the tube is the cheapest. Commuter trains also call at the airport. There's a taxi rank outside the arrivals hall, and the airport is also served by coaches.
At Luton: Luton Airport only has one terminal. There's a shuttle to the nearby Luton Airport Parkway train station, where you can take the Luton Express into the city.
At Stansted: Stansted Airport only has one terminal. The airport has a train station and is served by National Express and easyBus coaches.
