Direct flights from Toronto to London are operated by Air Canada, Air Transat and British Airways.

Air Transat fly to London Gatwick Airport and Air Canada and British Airways fly to London Heathrow Airport.

Terminal Information

Toronto Pearson International Airport

There are two terminals at Toronto Pearson International Airport, these are Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Air Canada flights to London will depart from Terminal 1 and British Airways and Air Transat flights depart from Terminal 3.  You should aim to arrive at your terminal at Toronto Airport at least three hours before your scheduled flight time. All airlines operating flights to London offer online check-in, this will save you time at the airport but as each airline operates different check-in closing times you should confirm this with the airline you are flying with.

Both terminals offer a great selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, from designer labels to duty free deals and airport essentials. These include Burberry, Coach and Gucci when it comes to designer fashion, Ink, Watermark, Relay and Maclean's for general convenience stores, books and news and DAVIDsTEA, Heirloom Bakery Café, Starbucks, Tim Hortons and many more for food and drink.

There is completely free Wi-Fi access available at both terminals at Toronto Pearson Airport.

London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow Airport is located to the west of London, and is 20 miles from Central London. There are four terminals at Heathrow Airport, all Air Canada flights arrive into Terminal 2 and British Airways flights from Toronto arrive into Terminal 5.

You can reach Central London by taxi, car hire, National Express coach, train, and London Underground.  The Heathrow Express train is the fastest way to reach Central London with a journey time of 15 minutes, departing every 15 minutes, both Terminal 2 and Terminal 5 have train stations. A single ticket costs £27 when bought on the train. A slower train with a number of stops throughout West London is available, this is the Heathrow Connect and it takes 30-40 minutes to reach Paddington with services departing both terminals every 30 minutes. A single ticket is £10.20.

London Underground services on the Piccadilly Line stop at both terminals, this offers the cheapest way to reach London with a single ticket costings £5.70 and a journey time of just under an hour. There are services departing every 5-10 minutes depending on the time of day.

London Gatwick Airport

London Gatwick Airport is 30 miles to the south of Central London and has two terminals, the North and the South. Air Transat flights arrive into the South Terminal.

Onward travel options from London Gatwick to Central London include bus, train, taxi, and car hire. The Gatwick Airport train station is in the South Terminal. The Gatwick Express is the easiest way to reach Victoria Station in Central London and departs every 15 minutes, the direct service takes 30 minutes, a single ticket is £19.90. There's also a number of slower, Thameslink services with various stops on the route for those who don't want to travel as far as Victoria.

What to expect in London
