British Airways and Singapore Airlines both fly direct to London-Heathrow from Singapore.
Terminal Information – Departing
British Airways fly from Terminal 1. This terminal has a fantastic range of designer shops, excellent eateries, and places to chill out before you fly. Enjoy a massage at the Airport Wellness Oasis, go window-shopping at Burberry and Bally, or stock up on snacks at M&M's World. Places to eat include the 24 Hour Food Gallery as well as global favourites Burger King, Subway and Starbucks. There are also plenty of restaurants where you can enjoy a final taste of Asian food before heading to the UK.
Singapore Airlines fly from Terminal 2. The departure lounge also has a massive range of designer boutiques including MCM, Prada and Tiffany & Co. If you're peckish you can choose from Italian, Vietnamese, Thai, American, Indian, Chinese and Singaporean food. There's also a juice bar, an Irish pub, and a 24 hour lounge bar in case you feel thirsty.
Terminal Information – Arriving
British Airways land at Terminal 5 and Singapore Airlines land at Terminal 2. Both terminals are served by overground and underground trains. The Piccadilly Line on the tube is one of the cheapest ways to reach central London, with single tickets costing around £5.70*. It takes around an hour, however. In comparison, The Heathrow Express only takes about 15 minutes and costs £26.50* (£21.50* if booked in advance). A cheaper option is the National Express and easyBus coaches, which cost around £5*. Ticket prices fluctuate and it's always best to book in advance. The airport has a taxi rank (although it's very expensive to get a cab into the city). Car hire from Heathrow Airport is available, and you can find great deals when you compare through Skyscanner.

What to expect in London
London is eight hours behind Singapore and the currency is the pound sterling (£). Prices in London are higher than in Singapore: particularly when it comes to dining out. A mid-range meal for two in London will set you back £50*, and a pint of local beer is about 20p* more expensive. Public transport and taxis in London are a lot more expensive, too. The weather in London is colder than Singapore, and a lot more varied with a real spring, autumn, summer and winter.
