Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

AirEuropa/Swiftair flights to Malaga depart from terminal 2. There are a few shops in the departure lounge including Relay (snacks and magazines), Adolfo Dominguez (clothing) and Madrid Duty Free. Dining options include Spanish favourite 100 Montaditos, as well as international giant Burger King. There's also a Mahou sports bar, in case you need a quick drink before boarding your flight to Malaga. The Puerta de Alcala executive lounge has recently been refurbished, and is open to all classes of travellers. Entry costs €26.60* (about £20.50).

Iberia Express flights depart from terminal 4. The departure lounge has a good range of places to relax, eat and shop. There's also an executive lounge, La Revoltosa, which is available for all travellers. Entrance costs €26.60* (about £20.50) per adult. There are plenty of designer shops to browse in terminal 4 including the likes of Burberry, Loewe and MaxMara. The terminal also has a spa, Esenza by Sha, where you can enjoy a relaxing massage before your short hop down to Malaga.

Terminal Information – Arriving

The majority of passengers at Malaga Airport arrive through terminal 3, although some domestic flights arrive at terminal 2. It's easy to walk between terminals. There's a train station within walking distance of the airport. It takes just over 10 minutes to reach the city by train, and tickets cost €1.40* (about £1.10). There's also a bus from the airport into the city, Bus A. Single tickets cost €3* (just over £2.30). A taxi rank can be found outside terminal 3, and all of the major car hire companies are located in the arrivals hall. Remember to compare car hire at Malaga Airport if you're planning a self-drive holiday. Some hotels in Malaga offer airport transfers for an extra fee.

Practical Information

You don't need a passport for domestic flights in Spain. If you're not a Spanish national it's a good idea to bring one anyway, in case of random security checks. We recommend arriving at the airport about an hour before departure.

What to expect in Malaga

Malaga and Madrid have similar summer temperatures, but winters in Malaga are more mild. Expect an average temperature of 25°C if you visit in the summer and 13°C if you arrive during the winter.
