Terminal Information – Departing
Brussels Airport only has one terminal, split into two piers: A and B. Flights to Amsterdam depart from Pier A. Shops in Pier A are varied and include Antwerp Diamonds & Jewellery, Hugo Boss, Samsonite and The Belgian Chocolate House. If you're thirsty you can choose between beer bars, smoothie bars and coffee shops. Hungry travellers will find plenty to fill their bellies. Choose from the likes of AMO (Italian food), Black Pearls (seafood) and Grabandfly (sandwiches). 60 minutes of free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport. The airport has its own app which you can use to track waiting times at security and real-time flight information such as gate changes. Highly recommended for nervous travellers. Pier A has one lounge which can be accessed by KLM passengers, The Diamond Lounge. Admission costs €26.46* (just over £20).
Terminal Information – Arriving
All flights into Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport are filtered into one arrivals area, Schiphol Plaza. The area has a few shops, ATMs and a tourist information area. It's also the airport's main transport hub. The taxi rank is located just outside, and from here you can easily take a metered cab into the city centre. You should pay €40-50* (about £30-38) although journey price will depend on the distance you travel. The airport bus serves Museumplein and Leidseplain, and single tickets cost €5* (about £3.80). If you're going to the city centre the fastest and easiest way to get there is by train. The station is underneath Schiphol Plaza and you can purchase your tickets from the machines. One-way tickets to Centraal Station are €3.90* (about £2.95). Car hire desks can also be found in the arrivals area. Practical Information
You don't need a passport to fly from Brussels to Amsterdam as both cities are within the Schengen zone. British travellers are advised to keep their passports on them at all times. We recommend arriving at the airport 90 minutes before your flight to Amsterdam is scheduled to depart.
