Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
Air Berlin flights usually leave from terminals A, B and C. They're all under the same roof, so you don't need to stress too much when you're heading to the airport. Most of the shops at Tegel Airport are located before security. Once you get through the checkpoint there are some duty free shops and stores selling last-minute essentials. Most of the restaurants are in the airport's public area too. The departure lounge has a few sandwich shops, perfect if you're in a hurry.
Terminal Information – Arriving
All flights to Krakow land at terminal 1. The airport is served by local and express buses. Routes 208 and 292 have a journey time of 40 minutes to the city centre. Tickets cost PLN 4* (about €0.95/75p) each way. Transferable tickets are available for PLN 5* (about €1.15/90p) and these can be used for an hour on the city's public transport system. This is the best option if you need to connect onto another bus or tram to reach your accommodation. Remember to validate your ticket when you board: if you don't you could face a hefty fine. The express bus is faster, taking about 25 minutes to reach Galeria Krakowska in the city centre. Tickets are PLN 10* (about €2.35/£1.85). There's also a train station at the airport, and the train journey takes 20 minutes. Tickets are PLN 8* (about €1.85/£1.50). Car hire is available at Krakow Airport: and the desks are located in the multi-storey car park. There's a taxi rank outside the airport and you can expect to pay about PLN 89* (just under €21/just over £18) for a lift into the city.
Practical Information
Berlin and Krakow are both within the Schengen area, so you don't technically need a passport to travel between them. If you're a British citizen we recommend keeping your passport on you anyway, in case of random ID checks. Aim to arrive at the airport 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart.
