Barcelona city breaks

Beautiful beaches, romantic streets, and one of Europe's best nightlife scenes make Barcelona a popular choice for a city break. You can easily discover the city centre on foot, but there's a good metro network and a tourist bus links all of the city's major sights. Barcelona is a lot cheaper than most UK cities, making it an excellent choice for a budget weekend break. The best time to visit for a short break is during early summer (May - June) when temperatures are a pleasant 20-25°C and a huge number of festivals take place. Summer is the high season, with temperatures approaching 30°C. Flock to the city beaches or shelter from the sun inside a trendy tapas bar. September-December marks the city's wet season. You'll find the best hotel deals from January-April. Don't expect warm weather, but do expect to be able to visit the top sights without the crowds.
