EasyJet is the only airline which flies direct from Bristol to Barcelona El Prat Airport.
Bristol Airport has just one terminal. Passengers are encouraged to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled flight departure time to allow for traffic, check-in and security. Check in is available at the airport, online with a printable boarding pass and via mobile app which stores your boarding pass.
Passengers can purchase a Fast Track pass to speed up their journey through security. These can be booked online in advance, or at one of the airport kiosks to ensure your waiting time will be kept to a minimum.
If you need to get online at the airport, you’ll find a number of internet desks located in the departures area. Free Wi-Fi is also available to passengers for up to 30 minutes, with charges for longer periods.
Other facilities include a range of shopping outlets including duty free stores, Superdrug, Dixons, Accessorize and WHSmith. If you’re buying heavy or cumbersome goods at the airport, you can opt to collect them upon your return. This free service is available at World Duty Free and Dixons.
Passengers will also find a range of food and drink options, offering both a quick bite to eat and something more substantial. There is Cabin serving fine wines, craft beers and locally sourced food and family friendly Dexters serving burgers and a children’s menu alongside old favourites like Burger King and Costa Coffee.
Barcelona El Prat Airport
EasyJet flights arrive to Barcelona Airport’s Terminal 2B. In the arrivals hall, you’ll find a La Caixa bank where you can withdraw money and exchange currency. Terminal 2B is also the location for the airport’s car hire offices. Hertz, Europcar, Enterprise, Avis and Sixt all operate from Barcelona El Prat Airport.
There are a number of ways in which you can travel from Barcelona El Prat Airport to the city centre. If you choose to hire a car from Barcelona Airport, you’re just 20 minutes’ drive from the airport and within easy access of main road networks around the region.
Taxis are available outside the terminal building although cheaper options include train or bus travel. There is a train station located at the airport. It is accessed from a walkway on the first floor of the terminal building. At the end of the walkway, you’ll find kiosks where you can buy your ticket before passing through a turnstile to the platform. Trains run to Passeig de Gracia in the city centre and depart approximately every 30 minutes.
Passengers can also take a shuttle bus to the city centre from outside Terminal 2B. The buses run around every 10 minutes and take 35 minutes to get to Barcelona city.

Barcelona is one hour ahead of Bristol and the UK. This region of Spain has a warm climate with temperatures a good few degrees above those in Bristol. In the summer, temperatures can reach an average of 29°C. Rainfall can be heavy in Barcelona during September and October. However, it gets a lot less rain than Bristol throughout the whole of the year.
Prices in Barcelona are much lower than in Bristol, particularly if you venture beyond the typical tourist restaurants and bars. Public transport is also much cheaper in Barcelona.
