Terminal Information
Southampton Airport
Southampton Airport is small with just one terminal. As the airport is so compact and easy to navigate, passengers on international flights are advised to arrive just 90 minutes before their scheduled flight departure time.
Once you’ve made the speedy journey through check-in and security, you’ll find a range of facilities in the departures lounge. If you need to get online, there’s Wi-Fi connection throughout the terminal building, available free of charge for up to four hours. If you do need longer, you can pay to extend the service. There are also internet kiosks available for a fee before and after security.
Shops at the airport include WHSmith and a duty free store. At duty free you can take advantage of the airport’s Shop and Collect service whereby any purchases made can be left at the airport and collected from a designated point upon your return. Food and drink outlets include the airport’s pub, The Glove Bar & Kitchen, Costa Coffee and The Olive Tree café bar. There’s also a currency exchange.
And if you’d rather escape the hustle and bustle of the departures lounge, you can head upstairs to the Priority Lounge. This lounge is available, for a fee payable in advance or on the day, to all passengers regardless of airline or class of ticket. Passengers in the Priority Lounge are treated to complimentary drinks and snacks, unlimited Wi-Fi and device charging points.

The AirTrain JFK is the fastest option for getting from the airport to the city centre. The train makes a stop at all of JFK’s terminals and connects to many major subway and bus routes, operating 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
If you choose to hire a car from the airport, you’ll find offices for Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget Dollar, Hertz, Payless, Enterprise, National and Thrifty all located within the arrivals hall. There are quite a few toll roads around New York city so it’s a good idea to check with your car hire company as to their policy for paying them.
Taxis are also available from outside the terminal building. Taxis travelling between the airport and Manhattan charge a flat fee of $52.00 and tipping is the norm.
