Flights from Manchester to Orlando

Daily direct flights from Manchester to Orlando International Airport are served by Thomas Cook Airlines, Delta, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways.
There are also a number of longer flights with connections available, served by British Airways, US Airways and Delta. These have connections in London, Atlanta or Philadelphia.
Terminal Information
Manchester Airport
It is advised that you arrive for a long haul flight at least 3 hours before your departure time to ensure you have enough time to check in, drop your luggage, pass through security and find the gate for your flight.
Manchester Airport has three terminals with flights to Orlando available from each. Thomas Cook Airlines flights depart from Terminal 1 which is the airport’s biggest terminal with some of the best shopping opportunities available in the departures lounge. Next, Clarins, Paperchase, Attitude Designer Fashion and Bobbi Brown are just some of the many shops here. A number of restaurants and cafes are available to suit all tastes and these include The Grain Loft, Starbucks, Burger King, Mi Casa Burritos.
If you’re travelling with Delta or Virgin Atlantic you will need to go to Terminal 2, check in takes place on the ground floor before heading through security to the upper level where you will find the departures lounge. Whilst you’re waiting in the terminal 2 departures lounge you can enjoy the shopping from WHSmith, Boots, Dixons and a number of fashion brands. Places to eat or drink include Brodericks, The Spinning Jenny Brew House and Frankie and Benny’s. A children’s play area is available within departures for under 3’s and one for children between 3 and 8.
Flights with British Airways depart from Terminal 3. The terminal has a small number of shops including Accessorize, Boots, WHSmith and Dixons as well as a choice of places to eat such as Pork and Pickle, Trattoria Milano and The Lion and the Antelope.
All of the terminals at Manchester Airport offer up to 60 minutes of free WiFi and the opportunity to purchase additional time beyond this.
There are a number of ways to upgrade your trip to Manchester Airport; to help you flow through security quickly a FastTRACK security service is available from £3.50 per person. For those wishing to wait for their flight in relaxing surroundings each of the terminals has an Escape Lounge upgrade which offers complimentary food, drinks and WiFi
A train station is located within the grounds of Manchester Airport and is connected to the three terminals via covered, moving walkways. Terminal 1 is a 5 minute walk, Terminal 2 is 10 minutes away and Terminal 3 is 7 minutes.
Orlando International Airport
Orlando International Airport is located 12 miles from downtown Orlando and 18 miles from Disney World Resort. After arriving at the airport you will need to pass through US immigration with self service kiosks available in arrivals which makes the process quicker, you then need to take the train from International Arrivals to either Terminal A or B, this takes 68 seconds. From here you can leave the airport via a number of onward travel options.
Car hire from Orlando Airport is one of the most popular ways of getting around Orlando and the surrounding area, as a result there are a number of car hire options available from the airport. Local buses are available from Terminal A of the airport serving the main tourist destinations of Orlando such as International Drive and Lake Buena Vista, costing $2 per person. Taxis from International Drive will cost around $40 and Lake Buena Vista taxis will cost approximately $50 available from outside of Terminal A and B.
Practical Information
British passport holders can visit the US for stays of up to 90 days without a visa thanks to the US Visa Waiver Programme. You will be required to complete an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) form online at least 72 hours before travelling to ensure you are authorised to travel into the US. This costs $14 per person.
What to expect in Orlando
