Terminal Information – Departing
Liverpool Airport has one terminal. You'll find plenty to keep yourself entertained in the departure lounge. Shops include World Duty Free, which sells a range of luxury goods such as premium make-up and alcohol. There's a WH Smith, where you can stock up on snacks and magazines for the flight, and a Boots in case you need any toiletries. There's also a JD Sports, in case you need some new workout gear for your trip. Dining options at the airport include popular chains like Burger King, Frankie & Benny's, Starbucks and Wetherspoons. Glamorous travellers will be glad to hear that there's a blow-dry and beauty bar in the departure lounge, so you can arrive in Budapest looking your best. There's an Aspire lounge at the airport, which is open to all classes of passengers on all airlines. There's an entry fee of £19.99* and this includes a comfortable place to wait for your flight, a range of complimentary refreshments and free Wi-Fi.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Budapest Airport only has one terminal, which is confusingly called terminal 2. You can reach the city by bus, taxi or rental car: all of which are signposted in the arrivals hall. Bus 200E connects the airport to Ferihegy train station and Kobanya-Kispest metro station. Bus tickets cost HUF 350* (about 85p) if you buy them from the ticket-machine or the newsagent, and are HUF 450* (just over £1.10) if you buy on-board. Metered taxis are available from outside the airport, and can cost anywhere from HUF 5,000* (about £12.50) to HUF 10,000* (just under £25). You need a valid passport to fly to Budapest from Liverpool. We recommend arriving at the airport about 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart.
What to expect in Budapest
Budapest is one hour ahead of Liverpool. The currency is the Hungarian Forint (HUF). Budapest is often touted as one of Europe's coolest cities, but it's also one of its cheapest.
