Ryanair and Easyjet passengers on flights to Barcelona must check in online and print their boarding pass or via the mobile apps provided by the airline; this will store your boarding pass which you will need to present before boarding. Online check in closes 2 hours before the flight time and the bag drop desks for hold luggage close 40 minutes before the flight. It’s important to note that after passing through security it takes approximately 10 minutes to reach the gates in the Liverpool Airport departures lounge so you should arrive at the airport in plenty of time, ideally 2 hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time. Fast Track security passes are available giving you use of a dedicated lane to avoid the queues.

In the Liverpool Airport departures lounge there is a great collection of shops and places to eat. WH Smith, World Duty Free, Boots, With Love from Liverpool, JD Sports and Obey Your Body holistic beauty products can be found alongside the Heidi and Pearl beauty bar for pre-holiday pampering. You choice of food ranges from coffee and fast food at Starbucks, Burger King, Subway and Joes Coffee House to meals at Frankie and Benny’s, Wetherspoon and The Estuary Bar and Grill.

Free Wi-Fi is available in the terminal building for the first 60 minutes per day, per device.

Barcelona El Prat Airport

Barcelona El Prat Airport, more commonly known as Barcelona Airport is located 12km southwest of Barcelona, Spain. The airport has two terminals with EasyJet flights from Liverpool arriving into Terminal 2B.

In the Terminal 2B arrivals hall there is The Market shop, currency exchange, a café and your onward travel options from the airport. If you have hired a car from Barcelona Airport and need to collect the keys the car hire desks from companies such as Avis, Sixt and Enterprise are located in the arrivals hall. Driving to Barcelona from Barcelona Airport will take approximately 20 minutes.

The airport has its own train station with connections to Barcelona and other local cities and towns including Maçanet-Massanes, Granollers and Sant Celoni. The train to Barcelona takes 22 minutes, ticket machines are available at the entrance of the station. Many bus services run from the airport serving the local area, the Aerobus service to Barcelona city centre departs from outside of Terminal 2b every 10 minutes with a 35 minute journey time.
