Terminal Information
London Heathrow Airport
When travelling on long-haul flights to Calgary you will need to arrive at the airport with plenty of time to check-in, pass through security and reach your gate before boarding. Heathrow Airport recommends you arrive at least three hours before your scheduled departure time. Air Canada, British Airways and Iberia all offer airport, online and self-service check-in.
If you are flying with Air Canada you will need to go to Terminal 2, British Airways and Iberia flights to Calgary depart from Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport. These are easily accessed by public transport with train and London Underground stations serving both terminals.
Shopping at Heathrow Airport can rival the high street with your favourite brands alongside designer fashion, duty free and department stores such as Harrods, Burberry, Hermes and Mulberry. For pre-flight meals or snacks you will be spoilt for choice with a caviar bar, Fortnum and Mason Champagne Bar and Gordon Ramsay’s Plane Food in Terminal 5 whilst Terminal 2 offers the likes of Yo! Sushi, The Gorgeous Kitchen and The Perfectionists’ Café.
Both terminals at the airport offer 4 hours of free Wi-Fi, mobile charging points and upgrades to premium lounges which offer complimentary food, drinks and unlimited Wi-Fi.
Calgary International Airport
Calgary International Airport has one main terminal; the Arrivals Hall is on Level 1. Facilities in Arrivals are a juice bar, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Skyway Liquor, a convenience store, ticket desks, currency exchange bureaus, ATMs and tourist information points.
Public transport from Calgary Airport to Calgary departs from outside of the terminal building. An Allied Downtown Shuttle operates from Bus Bay #19 and stops at a number of hotels in downtown Calgary and the Greyhound bus station. A single ticket is $15 and can be purchased from the Allied ticket desk in Arrivals Area C. Calgary Transit Route 300 also runs from the airport (Bus Bay 20) to the city centre stopping at hotels, the Convention Centre, City Hall, Chinatown and Calgary Tower. A ticket is $8.50 and can be purchased on the bus (exact cash payments only) or Mac’s convenience store. Services depart every 20-30 minutes between 5am and 12am.

Practical Information
If you are a British passport holder you will not need to obtain a visa in order to travel to Canada for short periods of time. An Electronic Travel Authorisation (Eta) will be required if you are travelling after March 2016 when the scheme comes into effect. You will need to apply through the official Canadian government website and it will cost $7 CAD and will be valid for up to 5 years.
