Airlines that fly from Dubai to Bangkok
Emirates and Thai Airways both fly direct to Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi Airport from Dubai. There are currently no direct flights from Dubai to Bangkok-Don Mueang Airport.
Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
Thai Airways flights depart from terminal 1, while Emirates flights leave from terminal 3. Terminal 3 is exclusive to Emirates and has plenty of luxurious amenities: including a gym with a swimming pool. Both terminals have a good range of shops, places to eat, and free Wi-Fi.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Suvarnabhumi Airport is about 20 miles from the centre of Bangkok. The airport only has one terminal, albeit a massive one. The Airport Rail Link is the fastest way to get into the city centre. The Express Train goes to Makkasan and takes about 20 minutes. Tickets cost ฿150* (about £3). The City Line isn't an express train, but gets you to Phaya Thai station in about 25 minutes. From here you can jump onto the Skytrain. Tickets are just ฿45* (about 90p). If you're going to a part of the city that's not accessible by Skytrain (Khao San Road, for example) it's better to get a taxi. Metered cabs are available just outside the arrivals area and are quite cheap. There's a ticketing system. Trips to the city cost about 250-400* (£5-8) depending on where you're going.
Practical Information
We recommend arriving at the airport at least two hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. You will need a valid passport to fly from Dubai to Bangkok. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your entry to Thailand. British citizens can get a visa on arrival in Thailand, which is valid for up to 30 days. This can be extended later. If you're planning to be in Thailand for longer, or planning to work in Thailand, you should apply for a visa before you visit. You might be asked to show proof of return or onward travel by immigration officials: some airlines refuse to board passengers who can't provide this.
