Terminal Information
Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport
Passengers flying from Malaga to Barcelona should plan to arrive at Malaga Airport at least 2 hours before the flight is scheduled to depart. Vueling flights to Barcelona depart from Terminal 3 (T3) and Ryanair flights depart from Terminal 2 (T2). Vueling have check-in desks in the check-in hall as well as online check-in facilities which would be the recommended option. Ryanair do not have check-in desks, you will need to check-in either online or using the mobile app up to 2 hours before your flight, bag drop desks are available and close 40 minutes before the flight.
T2 at Malaga Airport has a limited range of facilities; a duty free store and a tobacconist.
The Terminal 3 departure lounge has a variety of shops and places to eat. Shops feature popular brands such as Adidas, Ferrari, Sunglass Hut, World Duty Free, LOL Sweets, and Raquel Troyano Jewels. Dining options include Dani Garcia Delibar and Gambrinus for drinks and tapas as well as Burger King, Whopper Bar, Café and Te, Pizza Hut, Delimarche, Haagen Daz and O’Learys pub.
The premium VIP lounge is available in Terminal 3, located on Floor 2, entry is €27,30. Benefits of entry to the lounge are the quiet environment, televisions, computers and Wi-Fi access, and complimentary snacks and refreshments.

Barcelona Airport
Barcelona-El Prat Airport is 12km from Barcelona city centre and has two terminals. Vueling flights arrive into Terminal 1 and Ryanair flights arrive into Terminal 2.
Both terminals at Barcelona Airport have an array of facilities including ATMs, tourist information, a currency conversion points and onward travel options. Car hire desks for Avis, Europcar, National, Hertz and Sixt are located within the terminals after baggage claim.
Onward travel options from Barcelona Airport to Barcelona city centre are train and bus. The Barcelona Airport train station (Aeroport Cercanias) is at Terminal 2 and Vueling passengers can reach the terminal using a shuttle bus. Trains to Barcelona take 20 minutes and depart every 30 minutes. There are two main airport bus services, one from each terminal Aerobus A1 from Terminal 1 and Aerobus A2 from Terminal 2. It takes approximately 35 minutes to reach Barcelona and a single ticket is €5,90. Tickets are available from ticket machines at the bus stops, buses depart at most, every 10 minutes during peak hours.
What to expect in Barcelona
You will find Barcelona to be significantly more expensive than Malaga. A typical 3 course meal for two in Barcelona will cost on average around €40, compared to the €30 in Malaga. Despite this you can still find cheap bites to eat, such as tapas, street food and ‘menu del dia’ which is a set lunch menu with coffee for around €10. Single tickets on public transport cost €2,10, however taxi fares are around 20% cheaper than what you would pay in Malaga.
