How to check in
Web check-in is available for domestic routes and flights to and from Singapore. Passengers can check in for their Firefly flight from 14 days before and up until 1 hour before scheduled departure. For codeshare flights operating in Malaysia and Singapore, check-in begins 24 hours before the flight’s departure time. If you check in using a computer, you will need to print off your boarding pass. If you have an Android or Apple smartphone, you can check in using Firefly’s app and download the boarding pass onto your phone. Alternatively, you can check in at one of Firefly’s desks at your departure airport. If you are flying to or from another country apart from Singapore (such as Thailand or Indonesia), you will need to check in at the airport using one of Firefly’s self check-in kiosks.
Firefly has two aircraft types in its fleet of 14: the ATR 72-500 and the ATR 72-600. Standard seats have a seat pitch (the distance between your seat and the seat in front) or 30 inches. Extra legroom seats at the front of the plane can be booked when purchasing your ticket. Firefly ‘FlyPremier’ tickets allow you to choose your seat location while ‘FlyBasic’ tickets have allocated seating.
Firefly accepts the following international payment types: American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal. There is no booking fee for using any of these methods, but Firefly does charge an ‘admin fee’ on all bookings.
Service on board
Firefly flights include refreshments, both for FlyBasic and FlyPremier tickets. Refreshments are typically fruit juices, soda, or hot drinks such as tea or coffee. FireFly flights departing from Subang can pre-book hot meals, which can be collected from Circle K convenience store at Subang Skypark Airport before boarding the flight. Menu choices for the pre-bookable meals include Chicken Rice, Spaghetti Mamak Style, Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Macaroni & Cheese. An in-flight magazine, FireFlyz, is available to read onboard all Firefly flights.
As Firefly is a small, regional airline we haven’t been able to collect information on its punctuality record yet. Watch this space.
