Terminal Information – Departing

Thomas Cook and easyJet fly from Terminal 1. Enjoy browsing high-street fashion chains like Monsoon, Fatface and Boux Avenue or stock up on little luxuries at Biza Duty Free. There's a WH Smith where you can pick-up your in-flight reading (and giant Toblerones) and a Travelex in case you need to sort out your travel money. If you're hungry you can sit down for lunch at high-street favourite Giraffe, enjoy some Mediterranean cuisine at Cafe Balzar, or have a quick coffee and panini at Starbucks. Bar MCR and The Grain Loft are ideal for a pre-flight tipple, whether you're in the mood for cocktails and tapas or a glass of craft beer.

Tui fly from Terminal 2. There are fewer shops in the departure lounge, although you can splash a bit of cash in airport favourites such as Boots, Dixons Travel, Biza Duty Free and WH Smith. Grab a bite at Frankie & Benny's or Burger King before enjoying a pre-flight tipple in the Observatory Bar, or just grab a quick on-the-go coffee at Caffe Nero or Broderick's.

Terminal Information – Arriving

There's only one airport at Santorini Airport. There's a bus which runs between the airport and Thira bus station, where you can find local buses to other towns on the island. Single bus tickets cost €2* (about £1.55). Bus timetables in Santorini can be quite unreliable, so most visitors opt for private transfers instead. Many hotels in Santorini offer airport pick-up and drop-off. Some offer this service for free, others charge a small fee. There are also a wide number of private transfer companies, as well as a taxi rank just outside the terminal. Cabs are metered: as a guideline you can expect to pay around €10-14* (roughly £8-£11) for the ride into Thira. Car hire is available at Santorini Airport, and is a good option if you really want to explore the island. What to expect in Santorini

Santorini is two hours ahead of Manchester and the currency is the Euro (€). As you would expect, the weather in Santorini is a lot better than Manchester. If you're visiting during the winter the temperature is a mild 12°C with a lot more sunshine than Manchester experiences at that time of year.
