Flights to Stockholm generally leave from Glasgow International Airport (GLA) rather than Prestwick (PIK). There's a good range of shops at the airport, with designer brands like Bobbi Brown and Jo Malone as well as duty free shops. The airport also has a 'shop and collect' service so you don't have to drag your purchases around Stockholm with you, you can just pick them up on the way home. The airport also has a Boots for last-minute essentials, a WH Smith for in-flight reading and a Travelex in case you need to convert some money.

Hungry? There are plenty of places to eat at Glasgow Airport. High-street favourites Starbucks, Wetherspoons and Frankie & Benny's are just a few of the options. Glasgow Airport offers free Wi-Fi for 60 minutes, after that you need to pay. The airport has a business lounge (Upperdeck) which you can pay to access. Inside you can enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks, in a peaceful atmosphere away from the general hubbub.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Flights from Glasgow land at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. It's easy to reach the city centre by public transport. There are two express buses: Flygbussarna and Swebus. Both take around 40 minutes to reach the city centre. There's also an express train which leaves from underneath each terminal's arrival hall. This takes 20 minutes to reach Stockholm Central Station. To take a regular (non express) train you'll need to head to the Arlanda Central Station underneath Sky City (between terminals 4 and 5). Taxis are available from the rank outside each terminal.

If you're planning on doing a lot of exploring outside the city you might want to consider hiring a car from Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Sweden's countryside is absolutely breathtaking.
