Terminal Information – Departing

Cardiff Airport only has one terminal. It's quite small, with two shops: Nuance Duty Free and WH Smith. There's also a Nuance sportswear concession where you can buy Welsh sports strips and other goodies. If you're peckish, there are three places to grab a bite to eat at the airport: Caffi Cwtch, Caffe Ritazza and The Beer House. There's also an executive lounge: you need to pay for access but once inside you can enjoy a range of complimentary snacks and drinks.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Flights from Cardiff generally land at Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO). Official taxis offer a flat rate of €48* for trips into the city centre. The journey time is around 45 minutes. The Leonardo Express train runs between the airport and Termini train station in the city centre. Another option is to take the suburban train and then switch onto the metro at Tiburtina or Ostiense. The cheapest option is the Terravision shuttle bus, with a journey time of 55 minutes. Tickets are cheaper if you buy them in advance.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly from Cardiff to Rome. Try to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight is scheduled to depart, and make sure you give yourself plenty of time to catch your connecting flight.
