Airlines that fly from Cardiff to Rome
Currently no airlines offer direct flights from Cardiff to Rome. Indirect flights are available through Vueling via Barcelona and KLM Cityhopper via Amsterdam.
Alternatively, you can fly direct from Bristol Airport which is about an hour away from Cardiff by road. Check flights from Bristol to Rome.
Terminal Information – Departing

Cardiff Airport only has one terminal. It's quite small, with two shops: Nuance Duty Free and WH Smith. There's also a Nuance sportswear concession where you can buy Welsh sports strips and other goodies. If you're peckish, there are three places to grab a bite to eat at the airport: Caffi Cwtch, Caffe Ritazza and The Beer House. There's also an executive lounge: you need to pay for access but once inside you can enjoy a range of complimentary snacks and drinks.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Flights from Cardiff generally land at Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO). Official taxis offer a flat rate of €48* for trips into the city centre. The journey time is around 45 minutes. The Leonardo Express train runs between the airport and Termini train station in the city centre. Another option is to take the suburban train and then switch onto the metro at Tiburtina or Ostiense. The cheapest option is the Terravision shuttle bus, with a journey time of 55 minutes. Tickets are cheaper if you buy them in advance.

Practical Information
You need a valid passport to fly from Cardiff to Rome. Try to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight is scheduled to depart, and make sure you give yourself plenty of time to catch your connecting flight.
What to expect in Rome
Rome is one hour ahead of Cardiff and the currency is the Euro (€). Rome has much warmer weather than Cardiff, especially during summer when the average temperature is 26°C (ten degrees warmer than Cardiff). During January, the coldest month, you can expect an average temperature of 8°C. Prices in Rome are slightly higher than prices in Cardiff.
