Terminal Information – Arriving

Faro Airport has one terminal. Public transport in the Algarve is limited to the point that it's almost non-existent. Car hire at Faro Airport is understandably popular, and can sell out during the summer months. If you're planning to rent a car we recommend booking it well in advance. Some companies are based on-site and others are a short shuttle journey from the airport. If you're determined to use public transport you can take busses 14 and 16 into the city of Faro. From here you can find onward transportation, either by train or bus, to other popular resorts. There are lots of private transfer companies operating in the Algarve, and their prices are usually very reasonable. Some accommodation in the Algarve includes airport pick-up: we recommend contacting your hotel or villa to find out if this is possible.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly to Faro from Southampton. Airport security can get busy during the summer holidays, so we recommend arriving at the airport at least two hours-90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart.
