Terminal Information – Departing
Newcastle Airport only has one terminal. There's a good range of shops and restaurants to keep you occupied, as well as an Aspire Lounge if you need a bit of extra luxury. Shops include airport favourites like World Duty Free, WHSmith and Boots as well as some high-street brands such as JD Sports and Accessorize. Whatever your appetite you're sure to find something to satisfy your hunger at the airport. Starbucks and Greggs are ideal if you're on the red-eye flight (there's nothing coffee and a cake can't cure) while Upper Crust and Burger King are good for a quick lunch. If you've arrived at the airport early you can enjoy a more relaxing meal in The Cabin or The Flying Hippo American Diner. The Beer House is perfect for pre-flight drinks, and smokers will be glad to hear that they have a small outdoor area. The Aspire Lounge entry prices start at £21.99* and there are often discounts if you book in advance. The lounge has unlimited Wi-Fi, complimentary snacks and drinks, and plenty of comfy seating.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Venice-Marco Polo airport has one terminal with plenty of transfer options into the city centre. Water taxis are the most romantic (and most convenient) way to get into the city. The boat departure point is about ten minutes from the terminal. You can expect to pay €100-160* (about £70-112) for the trip into the city centre. A cheaper option is bus number 5, although this stops at Piazzale Roma just outside the city walls (central Venice is traffic-free). There are also buses to Mestre Railway station, the nearby beaches, and the Alpine ski resorts. Bus tickets can be bought on board ATVO and FSVbusitalia buses, at the ticket machines in baggage reclaim, or at the public transportation ticket office inside the terminal. Although cars are not permitted in the centre of Venice, you can hire a car at Venice-Marco Polo Airport. Most of the major car hire companies have desks in the arrivals ahll.
