Airlines that fly from Newcastle to Manchester
No airlines are currently offering direct flights between Newcastle and Manchester. It's possible to fly indirect with British Airways via London, Flybe via Southampton, KLM via Amsterdam and Aer Lingus via Dublin.
Terminal Information – Departing
Newcastle Airport has one terminal. The departure lounge has a good range of places to shop, eat and relax before your flight. For a bit of retail therapy you can pop into World Duty Free, WH Smith, Boots, JD Sports and Accessorize. There are plenty of quick and easy dining options including Greggs, Starbucks, Burger King and Upper Crust. If you're got a plenty of time to waste at the airport you can sit down for a proper meal at The Cabin or The Flying Hippo American Diner. The Beer House is a nice spot for a pre-flight drink, and has a small courtyard for smokers. If you like to travel in luxury you can check into the Aspire Lounge. Lounge access starts at £21.99* and this gets you unlimited Wi-Fi, a range of complimentary snacks and drinks, and somewhere nice to relax while you wait for your gate.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Aer Lingus land at Terminal 1 while British Airways, Flybe and KLM land at Terminal 3. The airport's train station is in between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Arrivals from Terminal 3 can access it through Terminal 1. A single train ticket from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly Station in the city centre costs £4.20.* Tickets for the Metrolink tram, which you can also catch from the airport, are the same price. All terminals have a taxi rank. Cabs are metered but you should expect to pay about £18* if you're heading into the city centre. Stagecoach and National Express coaches also serve the airport, and pre-booking is recommended. Car hire firms are based in the Car Rental Village. Practical Information
If you're flying to Manchester via London, Southampton or Dublin you won't need to bring your passport as all of these destinations are within the Common Travel Area. You will need to show an approved form of photographic ID for security purposes. Check your airline's website for a comprehensive list of acceptable IDs: usually driving licenses, bus passes, and other government issued ID cards are fine. If you're flying via Amsterdam you will need a valid passport, as you'll be passing through the Schengen Zone.
