Newcastle Airport

Passengers travelling on flights from Newcastle to Copenhagen should arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before their flight is scheduled to depart. With just one terminal at the airport you will find the check in desks in the main check in hall, or alternatively SAS offer online check in from 22 to 1 hour before the flight time. Passengers can purchase a Fast Track Security Pass to avoid queues at security. These cost £3 and can be purchased online or from kiosks near security in the terminal building.

In the departures lounge at Newcastle Airport you will find shops such as Accessorize, JD Sports, WHSmith, Dixons Travel and Boots. Places to eat include Burger King, The Beer House, Caffe Ritazza and Upper Crust. An Aerospa is located in the terminal which offers express beauty treatments.

A premium Aspire lounge is available in the departures lounge, after upgrading you will be able to enjoy the lounge area, a quiet zone, a kids play area, complimentary food and drinks and unlimited Wi-Fi.

Copenhagen Airport

Copenhagen Airport is 5 miles south of the city centre. Copenhagen Airport has two terminals, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, Scandinavian Airlines flights from Newcastle arrive into Terminal 3.

You can reach Copenhagen by bus, train or metro. There are a number of bus services available from outside of the airport, Bus 5A runs to Central Station. The train and metro stations are both located at Terminal 3. The train station is a short walk from the Arrivals Hall, located underground from Terminal 3 and trains to Copenhagen are available every 10 minutes. It takes 15 minutes to reach the city centre and a single ticket is kr20,00, you can purchase tickets from the ticket office in the Arrivals Hall.

Metro services depart from Terminal 3 on average every 5 minutes, depending on the time of day, a trip to Copenhagen will take 15 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the station or the ticket office in the terminal.

If you’d prefer to travel by car you can take a taxi or pick up a hire car, both available from the terminal.

What to expect in Copenhagen
