Flights to Riga usually depart from terminal 3. This terminal has a good range of shops selling travel essentials, fashion and little luxuries. Treat yourself at Biza Duty Free, Accessorize, Dixon's Travel and Swatch or pick up some light reading for the 'plane in WH Smith. There's also a Boots in case you forgot to pack your toothbrush and a Spare for in-flight snacks. Dining options in terminal 3 include restaurants like Trattoria Milano and The Lion & Antelope as well as snack bars Delice de France and Pork & Pickle. There are also two coffee shops, Caffe Nero and Costa. Free Wi-Fi is available for one hour throughout the airport.

If you fancy a VIP experience you can check into the Escape lounge. Note that the lounge fills up fast during the summer and pre-booking is strongly advised. Fast track security is available at Manchester Airport for £4* per person, allowing you to sail past the queue and straight into the departure hall.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Riga International Airport is about six miles from the city centre. It's easy to reach Riga by public transport. Bus 22, Minibus 222 and Minibus 241 all run from the airport to the old town and take around 30-40 minutes. There's also an express bus: this is slightly more expensive but a lot faster, and only takes 20 minutes to make the journey. Taxis are available and offer preferential rates if you book in advance. They take about 15 minutes to reach the centre. Another option is car hire from Riga International Airport: remember that traffic in Latvia drives on the right.
