Terminal Information
Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport has three terminals, American Airlines flights to Philadelphia depart from Terminal 3. Passengers flying to Philadelphia should arrive at Manchester Airport at least two hours before the scheduled flight time when the check-in desks will open. As well as check-in desks and self service kiosks, American Airlines offer online check in. This opens 24 hours before your flight and closes 90 minutes before. Bag check in closes 60 minutes before your flight.
Terminal 3 is the smallest terminal at Manchester Airport and as a result the shops and places to eat are more limited. Shops at the terminal at WHSmith, Boots, Accessorize, Swatch, Rolling Luggage and Dixons. Places to eat include gastro-pubs, delis and coffee shops at Pork and Pickle, Lion and the Antelope and Costa Coffee.
Terminal 3 has a premium lounge available from £21 per person. You will enjoy complimentary food and drinks, and unlimited Wi-Fi.
Manchester Airport offers one hour of free Wi-Fi access to passengers in the airport. You can purchase more access beyond this from £5 per hour.
Philadelphia International Airport
Philadelphia International Airport is 9 miles south of downtown Philadelphia. There are 7 terminals at the airport and American Airlines flights from Manchester arrive into Terminal A.
Trains, buses, taxis and car hire are available from Philadelphia Airport to take you into Philadelphia or further afield. The quickest option is the SEPTA train which has a station at Terminal A. Trains depart every 30 minutes at take 25 minutes to reach the city center, a single fare is $8. There are a number of buses which depart from the Zone 1 outside the airport. These are route 32 to South Philadelphia, Route 108 to 69th Street Transportation Centre and Route 115 to Suburban Square in Ardmore. A single fare is $1.
You can get a taxi from Zone 5 outside of the airport. A fixed fare of $28.50 is in operation for trips into destinations within Central Philadelphia. If you have rented a car from Philadelphia Airport you will find the car rental desks near the baggage claim area.
