Ryanair fly to Bologna from terminal 3. One hour of free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport. The departure lounge has a small range of shops including Biza Duty Free, WH Smith, Boots and Accessorize. It might not be the Trafford Centre but it's perfect for picking up some sunscreen, some fresh poolside reading and a pair of new sunglasses. There are two coffee shops (Costa and Caffe Nero) as well as an Upper Crust sandwich shop. If you want to get in the mood for your Italian holiday you can grab a bite at Trattoria Milano. Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport. Terminal 3 has an Escape lounge, which is open to all travellers regardless of airline. Entry prices start at £21*. We recommend booking your space in advance, as Manchester Airport's lounges are always in high demand.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Bologna Airport is a short drive away from the city centre. You can take an express bus, local bus or taxi into town: alternatively you can hire a car at the airport. Tickets for the express Aerobus cost €6* (about £4.65) each way. These tickets are valid for an hour on public buses, in case you need to catch one when you reach downtown Bologna. Public buses are cheaper and available from the bus stop, just a short ten minute stroll from the terminal. Taxis into town cost about €15* (about £11.60).

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly from Manchester to Bologna. Make sure you arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart. Give yourself a bit of extra time if you're flying during the school holidays, or have luggage to check into the hold.

What to expect in Bologna

Bologna is an hour ahead of Manchester. The local currency is the Euro (€). Prices in Bologna are slightly lower than Manchester.
