Airlines that fly from Madrid to London

British Airways, Iberia, Ryanair, Easyjet, Air Europa, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Iberia Express all offer flights from Madrid to London airports.

If you are flying to London Gatwick you can choose from Easyjet, Air Europa, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Iberia Express. Ryanair fly to London Stansted Airport and Easyjet also fly to Luton Airport. British Airways and Iberia both fly to London Heathrow and London City Airport.

Terminal Information

Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport is 12km north east of Madrid and has 4 terminals. Passengers travelling on flights to London are advised to get to Madrid Airport at least 3 hours before their flight is scheduled to depart. If you are travelling with Easyjet or Ryanair you will need to check in online or using the mobile app before your flight. All of the other airlines have check in desks at the airport as well as online check in. Air Europa and Iberia also have self-service check in desks.

Ryanair, Easyjet, Air Europa and Norwegian Air Shuttle depart from Terminal 1. Check in, security checks and the departures lounge are all located on the first floor of the terminal building. Shops and places to eat in departures include Hub Convenience, Madrid Duty Free, The Fashion Gallery, Urban Grill and Starbucks.

British Airways, Iberia and Iberia Express all depart from Terminal 4 at Madrid Airport. Terminal 4 offers the best shopping experience out of all of the terminals, Express Duty Free, Zara, Puma, Chocolat Factory and Samsonite are just some of the many shops in the lounge. There are places to eat to suit everyone’s taste with Kirei by Kabuki Japanese Restaurant, McDonalds, Carling Pub, EspacEvian, Starbucks and a number of others.

Both terminals have premium lounges, children’s play areas, currency exchange kiosks and unlimited free Wi-Fi access.

London Gatwick Airport

London Gatwick Airport is 30 miles south of London, in West Sussex. All flights from Madrid arrive at the South Terminal at Gatwick.

Reaching Central London is straight forward with the Gatwick Express Train departing from the airport train station every 15 minutes. This takes 30 minutes to reach London Victoria. Rail links are also available to other destinations and stations such as Brighton and St Pancras. Car hire is available from the South Terminal at Gatwick.

London Heathrow Airport

Heathrow Airport is 14 miles to the west of Central London. British Airways and Iberia flights from Madrid arrive into Terminal 5. Heathrow’s Terminal 5 station offers a host of onward travel options. The Heathrow Express train is the quickest way to reach Central London with non-stop trains to London Paddington departing every 15 minutes and a journey time of 22 minutes. London Underground services on the Piccadilly Line depart from Terminal 5, this is the cheapest way to reach Central London although journey times are around 50 minutes.

Bus and coach services depart from the airport to London, Reading, Watford, Surrey and many other destinations. Car hire desks are located within Arrivals of the terminal building.

London Luton Airport

London Luton Airport is a single terminal airport based in Luton, 35 miles to the north of Central London.

The Luton Airport Parkway station is located 1 mile away from the terminal and can be reached by a shuttle bus service which takes 10 minutes and costs £1.60 for a ticket. Regular trains run to London St. Pancras Station with a journey time between 30 and 40 minutes.

The Onward Travel Centre in the Arrivals Hall has ticket desks, information points and is home to the car hire desks. After collecting your keys you will need to take the free shuttle service to collect your car from the Car Hire Centre.

London Stansted Airport

London Stansted Airport is located in Essex, 30 miles from Central London. The easiest way to reach Central London is by the Stansted Express Train which reaches Liverpool Street Station in 50 minutes, services depart every 15 minutes.

There is a dedicated Car Rental Village located outside of the terminal if you are hiring a car from the airport. As well as a number of buses serving the local Essex area there is the National Express coach service to London’s Victoria station, departing every 15 minutes.

London City Airport

London City Airport, is the closet airport to Central London, located in The Royal Docks. Taxis, car hire and DLR trains are available from the airport into Central London. The Docklands Light Railway station at the airport connects to the Underground lines with services running every 8-15 minutes. London City Airport is in Zone 3. Travel advice and Visitor Oyster cards are available from the DLR counter next to the terminal.
