Airlines that fly from Liverpool to Southampton
There are no direct flights between Liverpool and Southampton. Flybe fly to Southampton via Edinburgh, Belfast and Amsterdam. It's also possible to fly via Dublin, with one leg of the flight operated by Flybe and another by Aer Lingus.
Terminal Information – Departing
Liverpool Airport has one terminal. The departure lounge has a good range of places to shop, eat and relax. There's a World Duty Free for premium goods, a Boots for last minute essentials, and a JD Sports in case you forgot to pack your workout gear. There's also a WH Smith, perfect for grabbing some in-flight reading and snacks. If you're hungry you can pop into Burger King or Frankie & Benny's. Grab a coffee in Starbucks or something slightly stronger at Wetherspoons. Liverpool Airport also has a blow-dry and beauty bar, perfect for giving yourself a pick-me-up before reaching Southampton. For a bit of extra luxury you can check into the Aspire lounge for £19.99*. The lounge offers a quiet spot to relax, do a bit of work with the complimentary Wi-Fi, or simply enjoy a complimentary range of snacks and drinks.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Southampton Airport has one terminal. You can reach the city centre by train, taxi, bus or hire car. The Southampton Airport Parkway Station is a short walk from the terminal. It takes just over five minutes to reach the city centre by train. Buses are cheaper, but take about 40 minutes to reach town. The taxi rank is located outside the terminal, and most drivers are happy to offer a quote before setting off. If you're planning to hire a car at Southampton Airport you'll find seven brands in the Car Hire Reception Centre, beside the multi-storey car park. These are Alamo, National, Enterprise, Europcar, Avis, Budget and Hertz. Remember to compare with Skyscanner to find the cheapest prices.
Practical Information
You don't need your passport if you're flying via Edinburgh, Belfast or Dublin. You will need to show some photographic ID. Check with Flybe (or Aer Lingus) for a comprehensive list of acceptable identification. Usually any valid, government issued ID is considered okay: driving licenses are perfect. If you're flying via Amsterdam you will need to bring your passport as you'll be passing through the Schengen area.
What to expect in Southampton
