Airlines that fly from Liverpool to Glasgow

There are no direct flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Glasgow, Scotland.

Flights to Glasgow International Airport with one connection are available; EasyJet and Flybe via Belfast City, Aer Lingus via Dublin, London Heathrow or London Gatwick and Ryanair via Derry.

Terminal Information

Liverpool John Lennon Airport

Passengers are advised to arrive no less than two hours before their scheduled flight departure time.

Flybe and Aer Lingus passengers can check in online, via mobile or at the airport. Passengers for EasyJet and Ryanair must use online or mobile check-in as there are no check-in desks at the airport.

The departure terminal is filled with shops, restaurants and entertainment. Shops include Boots, WHSmith, World Duty Free and JD Sports. Options for eating and drinking include Frankie and Benny’s, Subway, The Estuary and the Kissing Gate.

Aspire Passenger Lounge is located on the lower level by the stairs. For £19.99, you receive complimentary food and drink, free Wi-Fi and a selection of newspapers and magazines to read.

Glasgow International Airport

Glasgow International Airport is located 8 miles west of Glasgow City Centre. In the arrivals hall, they have cash machines and a currency exchange. They also have a Tesco Express, Boots and WHSmith for snacks, holiday reading and medicines.

To travel into the city centre and beyond, you can go via bus, shuttle, taxi or hire car.

The bus stands are right outside the main terminal building. They also have a shuttle service that runs every ten minutes and provides Wi-Fi on board. Tickets are £9 but discounts are available for groups and return trips. This takes around 25 minutes.

If you are planning to drive, you can pre-book a rental car to pick up at the airport. The M8 runs past the airport and connects you to all of Scotland. The following companies are represented there: Avis, Europacar, Hertz, Enterprise and more

You can also travel by taxi. If you choose the Official Glasgow Airport Taxi, they can pick you up at the terminal. If you’re travelling with another taxi firm, you will have to arrange for them to pick you up in Car Park 2 which is directly opposite. Taxis are around 20 minutes long and cost around £16.50.

Travelling from Liverpool to Glasgow does not require a passport but any kind of photographic ID (i.e. driver’s license) as you will remain in the UK.

What to expect in Glasgow

Glasgow, Scotland’s biggest city is a vibrant metropolis with a thriving arts scene and a huge array of shopping opportunities.

Climate wise, Glasgow is a milder area of Scotland. It may still be slightly colder and have a higher chance of rain than Liverpool. While eating out is slightly more expensive in Glasgow, you can often find locally-owned gems just outside of the city centre that are more reasonably priced.
