There are currently no direct flights available from London to Birmingham. If you're willing to spend a few hours in the air you can fly via the Isle of Man with Flybe from Stansted or Aer Lingus via Dublin from Heathrow and Gatwick. A number of other European airlines also offer connections via a range of European capitals.

Terminal Information – Departing

From Stansted: Stansted Airport only has one terminal. Some of the gates are reached by shuttle, so we recommend heading to your gate as soon as it's called. There's a great range of shops to browse at the airport, ranging from big fashion names like Oasis and East to beauty brands like The Body Shop and Boots. There's also a duty free shop where you can find great bargains on luxury goods. There are plenty of places to grab a bite, whether you're after champagne and sushi or a burger and a soft drink. For a relaxing pre-flight experience you can check into the Escape lounge.

From Gatwick: Aer Lingus flights depart from Gatwick's South Terminal. The terminal has a massive array of shops, restaurants and lounges to choose from so there's never a dull moment while you wait to board.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Birmingham Airport only has one terminal to navigate once you arrive. Public transport is widely available. The fastest way to reach the city is by train. Take the free Air-Rail Link shuttle to Birmingham International Rail Station. From here you can take the regular train into the city for £3* or, if you're in a hurry, the express train for £7*. The 900 bus also runs between the airport and the city (single tickets are £2*) or you splash out on taxi (about £22*). A number of major car hire brands also operate from the airport. Practical Information

We recommend arriving at the airport at least two hours before your scheduled departure time. If you're flying via Dublin or the Isle of Man you won't need to bring your passport, as both are within the Common Travel Area alongside the UK. Check the airlines website for a full list of approved photographic ID: usually driving licenses and other forms of government issued ID is fine. If you're flying to Birmingham via a European capital such as Brussels or Amsterdam you will need to bring your passport to enter the Schengen zone.
