Terminal Information
London Gatwick Airport
London Gatwick Airport has two terminals, Easyjet, British Airways and Garuda Indonesia all depart from the North Terminal at Gatwick Airport. If you are travelling to Gatwick by train you will arrive in the South Terminal, a free shuttle service between the terminals runs every few minutes. Generally, passengers are advised to arrive at Gatwick Airport at least three hours before their flight to Amsterdam is scheduled to depart. British Airways and Garuda Indonesia both operate check in desks at the airport as well as online check in in advance. Easyjet passengers are required to check in online or via the Easyjet mobile app.
The North Terminal at Gatwick is a shopping haven for fashion lovers with brands such as Hugo Boss, Cath Kidston, Lacoste, Pandora, Dune, Ray Ban and Ted Baker here. You will also find a number of airport favourites and luxury shops such as WH Smith, Boots, World Duty Free and Harrods. A wide range of food choices are on offer at the Caviar House & Pruner, Union Jacks Bar by Jamie Oliver, Jamie’s Italian, Pret, Wagamama and many more.
The first 90 minutes of Wi-Fi access per device is free, after this you can purchase additional time. If you need to charge your phone there are charging points throughout the lounge.
Amsterdam Airport
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has a convenient location on the outside of Amsterdam, just 9km away. There is one terminal at the airport with the Arrivals hall split into four areas, all of which lead into the Schiphol Plaza, the main shopping and dining area of Amsterdam Airport. Here you will also find a number of facilities such as tourist information points, ticket desks for onward travel, ATM machines, currency exchange and free Wi-Fi.
Schiphol Railway Station is the train station which serves the airport and it is located under the Schiphol Plaza, a short walk away. A number of frequent services to Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Rotterdam depart from the station. A train to Amsterdam Centraal will take approximately 15 minutes. Tickets and travel advice can be found at the ticket desks in the Plaza.
Regular bus services run from the airport, the most direct service to Amsterdam City Centre is the Route 197 available every 15 minutes. A ticket for a single journey costs €5.
There are a selection of car hire companies operating from Amsterdam Airport, it is recommended that you book your car hire in advance and you can collect your keys from the car hire desks in Arrivals Area 3.
