Glasgow International Airport

The check-in area for Jet2 flights at Glasgow International Airport is located in Terminal 2. However, your flight will depart from Terminal 1. The two terminals are connected by a short walkway. The Jet2 check-in desk opens three hours before your flight’s scheduled departure time.

Along with Eat, Mozzo Coffee House, WHSmith and Tesco Express, passengers will find a number of other shops, restaurants, bars, a Travelex currency exchange and a souvenir store in the departures area. The UpperDeck Lounge is available to all passengers for a fee. It offers complimentary drinks and snacks, games consoles for children and free Wi-Fi.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport

There is just one terminal at Glasgow Prestwick Airport and passengers are advised to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled flight departure time.

In the departures hall, there’s a WHSmith, a currency exchange and a duty free store. The airport also offers a Shop and Collect service, allowing passengers to purchase items before their flight and leave them at the airport ready for collection upon their return.

Rome Fiumicino Airport

Rome Fiumicino Airport is also known as Leonardo da Vinci Airport. It’s located 35 kilometres south west of Rome city centre. Jet2 flights arrive to Rome Fiumicino Airport’s Terminal 3. In the arrivals hall, there is a currency exchange, a tourist information desk and various convenience stores.

From Fiumicino Airport, passengers can travel by bus, train or taxi into the city centre. The quickest option is the Leonardo Express, a train which departs every 30 minutes. Car hire is also available. Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Maggiore and Sixt all have rental desks located in Torre Uffici 2, the car park connected to the terminal building by pedestrian walkways.

Rome Ciampino Airport

Rome Ciampino Airport is situated 12 kilometres south east of Rome city centre. There is just one terminal at the airport. Once you have passed through customs and baggage reclaim, you’ll find a currency exchange, car rental desks and a café in the arrivals hall.

From Ciampino Airport, there are regular bus services departing for Rome city centre from the bus bays opposite International Departures. Alternatively, you can take a taxi however this will cost significantly more. Car hire desks for Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Locauto, Maggiore, Sixt and Goldcar can all be found in the main arrivals hall.

What to Expect in Rome

At Rome’s tourist hotspots you can expect to pay high prices for a cup of coffee or a slice of pizza. However, on average, the Italian city’s prices are considerably lower than those of Glasgow. The costs of food and drink are much cheaper when compared to Glasgow. Travelling on Rome’s public transport system or by taxi is also very affordable.
