Glasgow International Airport
KLM, Easyjet and Flybe passengers will find their check-in desks in Terminal 1. The three airlines open their check-in desks two hours before scheduled flight departure times.
The departure lounge at Glasgow International Airport has everything you need to prepare for your holiday. Shops include Boots, WHSmith, Dixons, Accessorize, a duty free outlet and Sunglass Hut. Anything you buy can be left at the airport ready for you to pick up from a designated collection point upon your return. You can take your items to the luggage point in the main check-in hall and they will be ready for you when you get back to Glasgow.

Passengers will find car hire desks at Amsterdam Airport behind Arrivals 3. Companies based at the airport include Avis, Budget, Hertz, Enterprise, National and Europcar. Hiring a car is a good option for those travelling beyond Amsterdam city centre. However, good public transport links make getting to and around Amsterdam city centre very easy.
A number of local bus routes leave from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. For passengers travelling to the city centre, the 197 Amsterdam Airport Express is the most direct. It runs every 15 minutes from platform B9 at the airport and goes to Museumplein, Rijksmuseum or Leidseplein. Tickets can be bought online in advance or directly from the driver.
Schiphol rail station is located below the airport arrivals hall. You can buy tickets for travel from the yellow ticket machines in the station. Trains to Amsterdam Central, the city’s main rail station, run regularly and it takes just 15 minutes to reach the city centre.
What to Expect in Amsterdam
As a British national, you’ll need your passport to travel to the Netherlands but don’t need any form of visa.
