Brussels Airlines and Ryanair both operate direct flights from Edinburgh to Brussels. Brussels Airlines fly to Brussels International Airport and Ryanair flies to Brussels South Charleroi Airport.
Terminal Information
Edinburgh Airport
Edinburgh Airport, located 8 miles from the city centre is easily reached by tram, bus and road links. There is one central terminal with plenty of facilities on offer to cover everything you need whilst waiting for your flight.
It is recommended that you arrive at Edinburgh Airport at least 2 hours before your flight to Brussels, Belgium is scheduled to depart. Brussels Airlines offers check in at the airport, online and via mobile which will store your boarding pass for you. If you are travelling with Ryanair you must check in online or via mobile before arriving at the airport. Bag drop desks are available in the check in hall if you are travelling with hold luggage. If you have hand luggage only and have checked in online you can go straight through to security. Online check in closes 2 hours before your flight and bag drops close 40 minutes before.
In the departures lounge at Edinburgh Airport you will find a great selection of shops from designer fashion to the airport essentials. These include Boots, Dixons, World Duty Free, Jo Malone, Hugo Boss and Kurt Geiger. If you’re looking for a meal or a snack before your flight your options are Eat, Costa, Caffe Nero, The Gathering Restaurant or Takeaway, Wetherspoons and Thermidors Seafood Bar.

Brussels International Airport
Brussels International Airport is 11km north east of the city centre of Brussels, and the closer of the two airports. There is one arrivals hall at Brussels International Airport and you will enter the terminal on the 2nd level, from here you will find an information desk, car hire desks, a taxi rank on the ground floor and the train station on Level -1.
Taxis from the airport to Brussels city centre will cost approximately €45.00. Alternatively, you can travel to the city by train from the airport station. Regular train services are available to Brussels, as well as other major destinations such as Bruges, Antwerp and Ghent. Tickets can be purchased from the self service machines in the station. The journey from Brussels Airport Station to Brussels Central Station takes around 30 minutes.
Brussels South Charleroi Airport
Brussels South Charleroi Airport is 46km to the south of Brussels and is actually located in the city Charleroi.
Onward travel from Brussels South Charleroi Airport is limited to car hire and buses. Local bus services from the airport to Charleroi Train Station, 11km away are available however the easiest way to reach Brussels city centre is via the direct shuttle bus service. The Flibco Brussels City Shuttle service runs every 30 minutes throughout the day and take 55 minutes to reach Brussels-Midi Station. Single tickets are €17 can be purchased from the driver, or online with discounts available for advance bookings.
What to expect in Brussels
The climate in Brussels is largely similar to Edinburgh with a little less rain and temperatures which are a few degrees higher during the summer.
