Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Ryanair and Iberia Express leave from terminal 1 while Aer Lingus flights depart from terminal 2. Both terminals have a shopping and dining area called The Loop. These have a wide range of big fashion names like MAC Cosmetics and Jo Malone as well as a selection of souvenir and tech shops. If there's anything you forgot to pack, you'll find it here. There are lots of places to eat and drink at Dublin Airport. Terminal 1 has favourites like Burger King, Butler's Chocolate Cafe and Starbucks. The Garden Terrace restaurant has a terrace so you can sit outside and enjoy a drink on uncharacteristically warm days. Terminal 2 also has a good range of big brand cafes, and also has a Flutes champagne bar where you can toast your holiday.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport is really big, so expect a long walk through the terminal after landing. It's got plenty of public transport as well as a taxi rank and car hire desks (for more information, check out car hire from Madrid Airport). Metro trains leave from every terminal and take about 15 minutes to reach Nuevos Ministerios. From here it's easy to hop onto another train to reach your final destination. Buses from the airport include route 203 direct to Atocha train station, route 200 to Avenida de America transport hub and route 101 to Canillejas transport hub.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly to Madrid from Dublin. We recommend arriving at the airport at least 90 minutes before departure. Remember to give yourself a bit of extra time if you have luggage to check in or if you're flying during the school holidays.
