Terminal Information – Departing

Bristol Airport has one terminal building. There's a small but well thought out range of shops and restaurants. When you fly to Rome you can make the most of tax free shopping. Luxury goods can be purchased in shops like World Duty Free, Dixons Travel and Accessorize, and you can pick up last minute essentials like sunscreen at Superdrug.

Hungry travellers can settle down for a meal in one of the airport's fantastic restaurants. Locally sourced, healthy meals are the speciality at Cabin, while pub grub rules the day at Dexter's and the Brunel Bar & Kitchen. If you really want to treat yourself, check into one of the two Aspire lounges. Prices for the regular lounge start at £19.99* and you can enjoy a good range of snacks and drinks (as well as Wi-Fi). The Aspire Plus Lounge goes a little further, providing hot snacks and premium spirits. No children are allowed in the Plus lounge, and prices start at £29.99*. 

Terminal Information – Arriving

easyJet usually land at Terminal 2 of Rome Fiumicino. All of the terminals are in walking distance of each other, so wherever you land it's easy to reach public transport. The fastest way into the city is by train. The Leonardo Express goes straight to Roma Termini (the main train station). The journey takes 35 minutes and costs €15* (about £11). You need to validate your ticket by stamping it at the yellow machine, otherwise you could face a hefty fine. The Terravision bus is cheaper at €6* (about £4.30) for a single and €11* (about £8) for a round trip. The journey into central Rome takes 55 minutes. Cheaper public buses are also available, but these take longer. Taxis charge a flat rate of €48* (just under £35) from the airport into central Rome.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly to Rome from the UK. We recommend arriving at least 90 minutes before your flight is due to depart, and no later than one hour before. Give yourself more time if you have luggage to check in or if you're flying during the school holidays.

What to expect in Rome

Italy is an hour ahead of the UK, and the currency is the Euro (€). Rome can be very hot during the summer,  with August temperatures soaring beyond 30°C. If you want to see all of the sights, we recommend visiting during the winter: average temperatures sit at a far more pleasant 8°C. Prices in Rome are lower than in Bristol by an average of about 20%. You can enjoy a three course meal for two for £36, provided you don't stick around the touristic areas of the city.
