No airlines currently offer direct flights from Birmingham to Florence. Connecting flights are available through a number of airlines including Swiss via Zurich, Lufthansa via Munich and Air France via Paris.

Terminal Information – Departing

Birmingham Airport has one terminal. The departure lounge is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing pre-flight experience. Terminal Information – Arriving

Florence Airport is well served by public transport and is just four miles away from the city centre. The Volainbus takes 20 minutes to reach the city, and tickets cost €6* (roughly £4.35). The bus is regular, departing the airport every half hour between 6am and 8:30pm. Between 8:30pm and 11:30pm it comes once an hour. There's a taxi rank outside the arrivals hall, and you can expect to pay about €15* (just under £11) for the trip into Florence. If you're planning a self-drive holiday you will need to take the free shuttle bus from the short-term car park to the rental centre at Palagio degli Spini. What to expect in Florence

Florence is one hour ahead of Birmingham and the currency is the Euro (€). Florence is a little cheaper than Birmingham. During the summer it's usually a pleasant 25°C. If you're planning on doing a lot of sightseeing you might prefer to visit during the winter, when it's a much cooler 7°C on average.
