Airlines that fly from Berlin to Vienna

Easyjet, Air Berlin, and Austrian Airlines all offer direct flights between Berlin and Vienna.

Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Airberlin and Austrian Airways flights to Vienna both leave from Tegel Airport while Easyjet flights to Vienna leave from Schönefeld Airport. Both airports are easily accessible by public transport or by car. Free Wi-Fi is available at both Tegel and Schönefeld for up to 60 minutes at a time.

From Schönefeld:  facilities include a duty-free, a newsagents, one or two cafes, an Irish pub, and a Burger King. There’s also a Witty’s outside of the terminal where you can get a Bratwurst or Currywurst.

From Tegel: This airport is larger than Schönefeld and has more facilities. If you’re flying with Airberlin, you’ll leave from Terminal C, and if you’re flying with Austrian Airlines you’ll leave from A. Both Terminal A and Terminal C have plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop while you wait for your flight to Vienna to be called.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Vienna Airport is just over 11 miles to the southwest of Vienna’s City Centre. The easiest way to get into the city centre is by train, although there are other options too.

· The CAT (City Airport Train) takes just 16 minutes to reach central Vienna and runs every 30 minutes. A single ticket costs €11*.

· The S7 takes 37 minutes to reach Vienna Floridsdorf in central Vienna and costs just €4.40* (two single tickets costing €2.20* each are required).

· Taxis are available from outside the arrivals area.

·  Car hire at Vienna Airport is an option, and several companies including Avis, Budget, and Europcar all have a car rental desk at the airport. Vienna Airport’s car rental center is on level 0 of the multi-storey car park 4 (P4).

Practical Information

As both Germany and Austria are members of the Schengen Agreement, you don’t need a passport to travel between the two countries. Depending on the airline’s policy, you may be able to travel on another form of ID such as a driving licence. The forms of ID accepted vary from airline to airline, so be sure to check the airline’s website if you’re planning on travelling with anything other than a passport. Aim to arrive at the airport no later than 90 minutes before departure.
