Vueling offer seasonal flights from Belfast-City Airport to Barcelona, and easyJet offer seasonal flights from Belfast-International. Aer Lingus and Jet2 previously offered flights from Belfast to Barcelona, but these are no longer in operation.

Terminal Information – Departing

Belfast-International Airport has one terminal. It's quite basic but has everything you might need for a relaxing pre-flight experience. Starbucks and Caffe Ritazza offer pick-me-ups for early-morning flights, while the Fed & Watered Bar offers refreshments that are better suited to early evening. Burger King and The Strangford Grill are great if you're feeling a bit peckish. There are five shops to browse. Enjoy a tax-free discount at Aelia Duty Free, pick up some beauty bargains at Superdrug, or grab some light-reading for the 'plane at WHSmith.

Belfast-City Airport also has a small, no-frills terminal. You can enjoy free Wi-Fi while you wait for your flight. There are two coffee shops, a sandwich bar, a restaurant and a pub if you're in need of refreshment. There are four shops, selling everything from tax-free luxuries and toiletries to magazines and gifts.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Vueling land at Terminal 1, while easyJet land at Terminal 2. The free inter-terminal shuttle makes it easy to get from one to the other. Both terminals have car hire reception desks. If you're planning a self-drive holiday, compare car hire at Barcelona Airport first. Buses stop at both terminals. The Aerobus offers an express service to the city centre. Single tickets cost €5.90* (about £4.20). You can buy a 15 day return for €10.20* (about £7.25). An alternative is bus number 46, which takes longer to reach the city but is cheaper. Tickets only cost €2* (just over £1.40). There's a train station near Terminal 2. The train into Barcelona costs €4.10* (just under £3). This train doesn't terminate in Barcelona. Make sure you know exactly which station to get off at, and pay attention, otherwise you could end up in the suburbs. Taxi ranks are located outside both terminals. Expect to pay €30-40* (about £22-29).

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly to Barcelona from Belfast. Try to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight is due to depart. Arrive earlier if you're flying during the school holidays as security can become quite busy at this time of year.
