Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
Vueling flights to Malaga leave from terminal 1 while Ryanair fly to Malaga from terminal 2-B. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport.
The departure lounge in terminal 1 has a huge array of shops to browse while you wait for your gate to be called. There are delicatessens selling local food and wine, as well as clothing stores like Gonzalo Comella, Desigual and Adidas. If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle you can check into the Pau Casals lounge. It won the 'Best Lounge in the World' award in 2013, and entrance costs €25.50* (just under £20) if you're flying economy.
Terminal 2-B also has a good range of shops, featuring high street labels such as Mango, Natura and Claire's Accessories. Terminal 2 is home to the Canudas lounge. Entrance costs €25.50* (just under £20). There's a small range of sandwich bars as well as a grill restaurant and a Burger King, in case you're feeling peckish before your flight.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Most arrivals at Malaga Airport come through terminal 3, although some domestic flights do land at terminal 2 (which was recently refurbished). Public transport, taxis, and car hire at Malaga Airport is available from terminal 3, which is within easy walking distance of terminal 2. There's also a train station a short walk away. The train into the city takes about 12 minutes and a single ticket costs €1.40* (about £1.10). Bus A goes direct from the airport to the city centre, and costs €3* (just over £2.30).
Practical Information
You don't need a passport to fly on domestic routes within Spain. We recommend keeping it on you anyway, for security purposes. Aim to arrive at the airport no later than one hour before your flight is due to depart. Give yourself extra time if you're travelling during the summer holidays as the airport can get quite busy.
