Terminal Information – Departing

This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is a huge airport built under the one terminal concept, with numerous piers all under one roof. You'll see which pier your flight is departing from once you arrive at the airport, but as a rule of thumb KLM flights usually leave from piers B, C and D while EasyJet leave from piers H and M. The airport has a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars but if you get bored of exploring you can always sit down and enjoy the free Wi-Fi.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Edinburgh Airport has excellent public transport links to the city centre with the Airlink 100 express bus, the no.35 local bus, and the tram. The bus stops are right outside the terminal, while the tram stop is about five minutes' walk away from the building. Express bus tickets cost £4.50*, local bus tickets £1.60* (although the journey is a lot slower) and tram tickets cost £5.50*. Alternatively you can take a taxi from the rank, a short walk from the terminal under a covered walkway. It should cost you about £20* to reach the city centre.

Another option is car hire at Edinburgh Airport. This gives you the freedom to visit sights outside the city like Rosslyn Chapel, the East Neuk of Fife, and (if you don't mind a longer drive) the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

Practical Information

You need a valid passport to fly to Edinburgh from Amsterdam. Try to arrive at the airport no later than 90 minutes before scheduled departure.
