Terminal Information

Aberdeen Airport

Aberdeen Airport is a small, single terminal airport located 6 miles north west of Aberdeen city centre. It is recommended that you arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight to Heathrow is scheduled to depart. British Airways offers a number of check in options which include online and mobile app check in in advance.

Within the departures lounge at Aberdeen Airport you will find a small number of shops and places to eat, these include Boots, WHSmith, Dixons, a duty free store, Costa and The Globe Restaurant.

Unlimited free Wi-Fi is available throughout the departures lounge. A number of other facilities such as printing facilities’, a children’s play area and Travelex currency counters are all available.

Heathrow Airport

British Airways flights from Aberdeen arrive into Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport. Within the arrivals area you will find Costa Coffee, Caffe Nero, M&S Simply Food, WHSmith and ticket and information booths for onward travel options.

A number of onward travel options are available from Heathrow Airport direct into Central London, these include the London Underground, buses and the Heathrow Express train. The fastest way to reach London is the Heathrow Express to London Paddington which takes approximately 15 minutes from the station at Terminal 5. A standard single ticket is £26.50*.

Terminal 5 has its own London Underground station on the Piccadilly Line located in the basement and regular services run from 5am to 11.35pm. Ticket and route advice is available from the station, a single ticket to Central London (Zone 1) is £5.70* and a one day anytime Travelcard is £17*.

Practical Information

When travelling on domestic flights within the UK a passport is not required, however you still need to carry a valid form of photo ID such as a driving licence. It is important to check that your form of ID is accepted by British Airways before your flight.
