Airlines that fly from Manchester to Venice

Currently Jet2 is the only airline offering flights from Manchester to Venice but there are connecting flights available with KLM and Lufthansa.

Terminal Information – Departing

The shops in Manchester Airport are fairly typical but there are a large number of them. The airport has many clothing outlets from Fat Face to JD Sports to Boots, Superdrug and Accessorise selling holiday essentials. There is a watch store, shoe shops, a WHSmiths, a Spar supermarket and a large Biza Duty Free shop. Food-wise there is everything from Costa Coffee and Cafe Nero to a pasty shop, a Frankie and Benny’s, a fine dining Grain Loft and a choice of fast food outlets and pop-up street food-style eateries.

There is even a 24-hour children’s play area and an on-site hotel. You can enjoy up to 60 minutes of free Wi-Fi at Manchester Airport. If you enjoy travelling in style you can book into the Escape Lounge. Here you can enjoy unlimited Wi-Fi, as well as complementary drinks and snacks.

Terminal Information – Arriving

Venice Airport has one terminal so it is easy to find your way around. It is located just 13 km from Venice taking approximately 20 minutes by car. The airport has seven car rental companies located within it if you prefer to hire a vehicle. There are also buses that link the airport to Venice Venezia Mestre and Venezia Santa Lucia railway stations in around 20 to 25 minutes. Finally, there is transport by waterbus which is accessed via the airport boathouse connecting to Venice and the main Venetian islands (Murano, Burano, Lido). Tickets can be purchased near luggage carousels 3 and 5 or from the ticket office at the dock side. Taxis are also available for hire just outside the airport terminal.

 Practical Information

You will need to bring your passport with you when you’re flying from the UK abroad, so be sure to pack it before you leave the house!

There are printers in the check-in area of Manchester Airport, so there’s no need to panic if you forget to print your boarding pass. If you have a smartphone you can store your boarding card electronically on your phone so you don’t need to worry about paper at all.

We recommend giving yourself plenty of time at the airport, so try not to arrive any later than one hour before your flight is due to depart. Queues at security are longer at weekends and during school holidays, so it’s worth giving yourself some extra time.

What to expect in Venice

Venice isn’t the cheapest European city with a three course meal for two setting you back from €55*. That said, pizza is food of the gods and is definitely available across the city for much less. The weather in Venice is hot hot hot in the summer months often getting in the high thirties. Winters can be cold, with temperatures down to zero so bring woollies if travelling at that time of year.
