Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
Etihad, Emirates, Lufthansa, and Finnair flights depart from Terminal 1. Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways fly from Terminal 2, while British Airways and KLM leave from Terminal 3. All of the terminals have free Wi-Fi for up to one hour, and an Escape Lounge (£19.99* per person) if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. Terminal 1 has a wider selection of shops and restaurants than the other two terminals, but all boast duty free shops, a Boots, a Dixons Travel and a WHSmith. Australia isn't in the EU so you can enjoy a duty free discount on any luxury items that you buy.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Flights from Manchester will land at Perth Airport's international terminal, unless you've changed flights in Australia already. Both terminals are well connected to the city by public and private transport. Taxis from the airport to downtown cost about $40* (just under £20), and shuttle buses are cost-effective if you're travelling in a group. If you want to take public transport you will need to transfer to the domestic terminal using the free bus. This is where the Transperth buses stop: tickets are about $4.20* (about £2).
Practical Information
You need a valid passport and a visa to visit Australia. Your passport only needs to be valid for the duration of your stay, but check the regulations of the country you're stopping over in: they might ask for an additional six months validity. You can apply for your e-Visa online at the Department of Immigration & Border Protection, or speak to the Australian High Commission in London for other types of visa. When you arrive at the Australian border you might be asked to show evidence that you have enough money to support yourself, and that you've already booked onward travel so bring a bank statement and any relevant receipts.
