Terminal Information
Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport has three terminals. Jet2, Monarch and Tui flights depart from Terminal 2. The airport advises passengers on flights to Naples to check-in at least two hours before their scheduled flight departure time. Jet2, Monarch and Tui all offer online check-in as well as the option to check-in at the airport.
Terminal 2 offers a Fast Track Pass for passengers looking to speed up their journey through security. Passes are available for £3.50 from kiosks outside the security area and allow you to join short Fast Track queues.
Once you’re through to the departures lounge, you’ll find a range of facilities with a currency exchange desk, free Wi-Fi for up to an hour, cash machines and duty free shops. For a little retail therapy there are stores like Accessorize, WHSmith and Dixons Travel, and for a bite to eat there are fast food outlets, high street restaurants and bars.
Terminal 2 also offers a premium lounge. You can pay at the lounge reception on the day or pay in advance online. The lounge offers complimentary food and drink and a quiet space in which to spend the time before your flight.
Naples Airport
Naples Airport is located 6 kilometres north east of Naples city. The airport is home to two terminals. Jet2, Monarch and Tui flights all arrive to Terminal 1. There’s a good selection of facilities in the arrivals hall including cash machines, food and drink outlets, convenience stores and a free Wi-Fi connection. Various ground transportation options can all be found outside.
A number of car hire companies operate from the airport’s car hire centre, located close to the terminal building. Passengers need to take a shuttle bus from the P5 car park in order to get to the rental centre.
Other onward travel options include buses and taxis, both of which depart from outside the terminal building. Buses offer routes into Naples city centre and to surrounding towns and cities too. Taxis charge a fixed rate for journeys to and from the airport and a ride into Naples city centre will cost between €16.00 and €25.00 depending on your final destination.
What to Expect in Naples
Naples enjoys a warm climate with four distinct seasons. During summer months the weather is very hot and humid with temperatures regularly reaching into the mid-thirties. From December to February temperatures are much cooler, with average lows of four or five degrees Celsius, and you’re more likely to experience rain. During spring and summer months you can enjoy the best of both worlds, reasonable temperatures and very little rain.
Naples is generally a little cheaper than Manchester. You can expect to pay €50.00 for a mid-range three course meal for two, €3.50 for a bottle of beer and €1.30 for a one way journey on public transport. And if you’re doing either supermarket or clothes shopping, you’ll find much cheaper prices than you would in Manchester too.
