Manchester Airport
You should arrive at Manchester Airport at least 3 hours before your flight to Melbourne is scheduled to depart allowing plenty of time to check in, proceed through security and be ready to board your flight when the gates open. To save time at the airport you can check in online with your airline or upgrade to FastTrack Security passes for £3.50 per person.
Emirates flights depart from Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport, this is the biggest terminal with a great shopping and dining experience. Shops and restaurants here include Attitude Designer Fashion, Jo Malone, Bobbi Brown, Giraffe, Mi Casa Burritos and The Grain Loft.
If you are flying with Qatar or Etihad you will need to head to Terminal 2. You will find WH Smith, Boots, JD Sports, Biza Duty Free, Accessorize, Caffe Ritazza and Frankie and Benny’s here as well as other cafes and bars.
British Airways and KLM flights depart from Terminal 3, this is the smallest of the terminals and the shops are limited to the airport essentials, a duty free store, Boots, WH Smith, Accessorize and Swatch. Food options range from British deli style food at Pork and Pickle to gastro-pub dining at The Lion and The Antelope.
One hour of free Wi-Fi is available for visitors to Manchester Airport. There is an Escape Lounge in each terminal if you wish to upgrade, benefits are complimentary food and snacks, hot and cold drinks and unlimited Wi-Fi.
Melbourne Airport
Melbourne Airport which is also known as Tullamarine Airport is located 20km to the north west of Melbourne, Victoria. The Arrivals Hall is on the ground floor of the terminal where you will find a tourist information desk, an Optus, a bank, Travelex currency and a Hudsons Coffee Shop.
Travel options from Melbourne Airport to Melbourne are car rental, taxis and bus services which depart from outside of the terminal building. The SkyBus is an express bus service available 24 hours a day, departures are every 10 minutes with a transfer time of 20 minutes. A ticket for a one way trip to Southern Cross Station in Melbourne is $18 and can be purchased at the bus stop.
