Liverpool Airport

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has one terminal, you should arrive at least one hour before your flight to Cork is scheduled to depart. Ryanair do not operate check-in facilities at the airport so you will need to check in online or using the Ryanair mobile app. Although checking in online saves time when you arrive at the airport it is still important to arrive with plenty of time to spare. Bag drop desks close 45 minutes before your flight, and boarding gates close 30 minutes before.

The Liverpool Airport departures lounge is home to some airport essentials and high street favourites for last minute holiday shopping. There is Boots, WHSmith, JD Sports, World Duty Free, Obey Your Body (beauty products), With Love from Liverpool and Sound Express from WH Smith, a new addition which offers headphones and other sound accessories. All flights departing from Liverpool Airport allow you to take an additional shopping bag from the airport on board with you alongside your hand luggage.

If you want a bite to eat or relax with a coffee before your flight there are a number of venues throughout the departure lounge. These include Starbucks, Frankie and Benny's, Burger King, The Kissing Gate Bar and Restaurant and a Wetherspoons.

Liverpool Airport passengers can enjoy an hour of free Wi-Fi access.

Cork Airport

Cork Airport serves the south west of Ireland located 6.5km from Cork city centre. The airport has one terminal with a small arrivals hall, here there is a cafe, small shop and information points.

You can travel from Cork Airport to Cork by bus, taxi or car rental. If you have rented a car from Cork Airport you can pick it up at the Car Rental Centre in the Arrivals Hall. Car hire is ideal for those travelling beyond Cork and wishing to explore south west Ireland. The taxi rank is located outside of the Arrivals Hall exit, a taxi from Cork Airport to Cork will cost €15-20 depending on your destination.

For those travelling by bus there are a small number of bus services available. Bus Eireann 226 runs to Cork with a journey time of 20 minutes, and a single fare is €5.50. For transfers to Limerick and Galway there are services operated by CityLink Ireland.

Practical Information

Ireland and the UK are part of the Common Travel Area (CTA) so you will not need a passport to travel from Liverpool to Cork. You will need to provide another form of photographic ID, and you should confirm which types of ID are acceptable with Ryanair before travelling.
