Terminal Information

London City Airport

London City Airport is located in the Royal Docks, six miles northeast of central London. The airport has just one terminal.

Check-in desks open two hours before each flight’s scheduled departure time. However, it’s worth checking with your airline for their recommendations as the airport is so compact it’s often possible to check-in just 15 minutes before your flight if you’re carrying hand luggage.

London City Airport operates a Silent Airport policy. This means that no flight announcements are made and you’ll need to keep an eye on information screens for details of your flight’s status. You can also keep up to date with flight information online, by accessing the airport’s complimentary Wi-Fi network or using a pay-as-you-go internet station.

If you need to do any shopping or pick up a bite to eat at the airport, there are options both before and after security. There’s a WHSmith before security and Aelia Duty Free (which offers a collect on return service), Boots, WHSmith and Links of London in the departures lounge. Food options before security include Pret A Manger and Panopolis, whilst in the departures lounge you’ll find modern British cuisine at Rhubarb, coffee and sandwiches at Caffe Nero and Espressamente, and both food and drink at The City Bar.

The departures lounge is also home to a Travelex currency exchange. Currency can be ordered in advance ready for you to collect at the airport.

Rotterdam Airport

Rotterdam Airport is also known as The Hague Airport. It’s located around 5 kilometres northwest of Rotterdam city centre and has just one terminal.

The arrivals hall offers a range of facilities for passengers. There’s an information desk open from 7:30 until the last flight of the day, where you can get information about onward travel or Rotterdam attractions. You’ll also find a GWK Travelex currency exchange office, cash machines, a restaurant with a panoramic terrace, a convenience store and car hire desks. Car hire companies operating at Rotterdam Airport include Avis, Europcar, Sixt, Budget, Hertz and Green Motion Car Hire. You can either make a reservation in advance online or book upon arrival.

If you’re planning to take a taxi from the airport to Rotterdam city centre, you’ll find a taxi rank right outside the airport terminal. There’s also a bus stop close by. Bus 33 travels to the Meijersplein metro station and from here you can reach the centre of Rotterdam in just 10 minutes.
