BACityFlyer and Tui operate seasonal charter flights from Glasgow International Airport to Verona. It's also possible to fly indirect with airlines such as British Airways and EasyJet. There are no flights to Verona from Prestwick Airport.

Glasgow International Airport has plenty of shops and restaurants to keep you occupied. For coffee, there’s both a Starbucks and a Mozzo Coffee House along with sandwich shops like Fresh Food Central and Upper Crust. For a pre-flight tipple and something bigger to eat, there are several bars to choose from including Tennant’s Pier Bar, Caledonia Bar & Restaurant, and Central Sports Bar & Grill.
Shops at Glasgow Airport range from newsagents and small shops like WH Smith and Tesco Express to high-end fashion retailers like Swarovski and Jo Malone. There’s also a Travelex where you can exchange your Sterling into Euros, if you haven’t already, and a Dixons Travel where you can pick up a travel adapter to use in Italy.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport for up to one hour at a time. Alternatively, the Upperdeck Lounge offers Wi-Fi along with a selection of snacks and drinks. Alcoholic drinks are included, but there’s a limit of four alcoholic drinks per person.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Flights from Glasgow to Verona arrive at the city's main airport, Verona-Villafranca Airport (sometimes referred to as Verona International). The airport is about 7.5 miles southwest of the city centre.
· A shuttle bus service connects Verona International Airport with Verona Porta Nuova, the city's main railway station. The shuttle service runs every 15 minutes and the journey time is between 15 and 20 minutes. Tickets can be purchased on board or from the ticket machine at the bus stop outside of the arrivals terminal.
· Taxis are also available, with a journey to the city centre costing between €15* and €25*.
· Car hire at Verona Airport is another possibility, ideal if you’re travelling in a large group or are planning to explore the area. Lake Garda, Venice, and Brescia are all a short drive from Verona and are all worth visiting if you have time.
Practical Information
As this is an international flight, you should aim to arrive at Glasgow Airport at least two hours before your flight to Verona is due to depart. You will need a valid passport to fly between the United Kingdom and Italy.
What to expect in Verona
Verona has cool winters and warm summers. If you’re travelling to Verona during the winter months, don’t expect it to be much warmer than Glasgow. In December and January, temperatures average between 2-4°C, very similar to the 3-4°C Glasgow usually gets. If you’re visiting during the summer months, however, you’ll notice a big difference. During July and August, daily temperatures average 23-24°C. In Glasgow, the daily average is around 15°C.
Verona is slightly cheaper than Glasgow for most purchases. Expect to pay around £43* for a three-course meal for two, 14% less than the £50* average in Glasgow. Coffee is also cheaper, naturally. Here a cappuccino costs around £1.15* on average compared to £2.60* in Glasgow. Of course, prices vary depending on how close you are to the most touristic parts of the city. The closer your restaurant is to the Casa di Giulietta or the Piazza delle Erbe, the more you can expect to pay.
